Gail McDonald, MD, HMDC
Gail McDonald is board certified with the American Board of Family Medicine and the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Once she obtained her medical degree from University of Arizona College of Medicine, she practiced at various Indian health centers in New Mexico and Utah. After a Family Practice Residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, she then went to Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia Canada and worked for 10 years in French, Scottish and M’iq M’aq fishing villages. In 2003 she returned to Tucson and worked at El Rio Health Center where she used her medical Spanish-speaking skills to benefit the general population, homeless population and the mentally ill. Along with practicing medicine and working to obtain her certification as a hospice medical director, Dr. McDonald is also an avid hiker. Since 2013, she has been hiking the 14,000′ peaks in Colorado. In the Summer of 2019 Dr. McDonald completed 31 out of the 54 peaks as well as completed a pilgrimage, circling Mt. Kailash in Tibet which was 21,700′.
