Acute Symptom Management
The Casa de la Luz Inpatient Unit is used as a short-term alternative when symptoms, such as pain, agitation, nausea, etc. cannot be managed in the home setting. Here, 24-hour, on-site specialized medical and nursing expertise joins with compassionate emotional and spiritual care. The goal at the Inpatient Unit is to control the symptom so you can return home and be supported by the hospice home care team.
The Inpatient Unit is a freestanding facility, offering nine spacious, private rooms, surrounded by inviting and serene gardens, providing a welcoming, homelike, and supportive environment for hospice patients, their families and friends.
Families and friends are invited to visit and stay with you at the Inpatient Unit any time, during the day or night. Recliners are provided in each room so that a loved one can stay comfortably with you. Common areas are also provided to visitors for additional comfort and relaxation, including a large family gathering room with comfortable seating areas and a quiet chapel room for reflection. The unit provides outdoor garden areas and a dining area with snacks, beverages, and a community use microwave.
