Seeking New Volunteers

| By Jodi Horton

Do you know someone who is looking for a chance to help the community? Casa de la Luz Hospice is accepting volunteer applications for individuals who are interested in offering companionship to hospice patients. We are especially  in need of professional and therapy volunteers–Reiki practitioners, hairstylists, and pet therapy. Volunteers who will be providing services such as Reiki, styling, and pet therapy are expected to have current licensure or certification. All volunteers are required to complete a 30-hour training program. Our volunteers serve patients throughout the greater Tucson community, including Marana, Catalina, Picture Rocks, Oro Valley, South Tucson, and Vail.

Testimonials from other hospice volunteers:

“I do not feel I have done anything more important in my life than helping as a hospice volunteer.” – Diane Gilbert

“It is an amazing honor to spend time with people who are in the last days of their life. They have so much to share when we are willing to sit and listen. This is the most rewarding ‘job’ I have ever had.” – Ruth Houkom

If you are interested in volunteering your time to serve patients facing the end of life, submit a volunteer application online. Call (520) 544-9890 if you have any questions.
