Being a part of the national We Honor Veterans program has given our staff the opportunity to expand their knowledge of veterans at end of life, and provide care that is compassionate and appropriate, respecting the individual’s unique military experience and background. We were glad to see the program receive some national attention this week when it was discussed on NPR. Read more: VA Steps Up Programs As More Veterans Enter Hospice Care

We are always going to root on the side of more and earlier conversations about end-of-life care. Though we know these conversations be uncomfortable and difficult, we believe the peace of mind that happens later is worth the discomfort now.
