| By Jodi Horton

There’s only a few more days till Christmas, and if you’re like a lot of people out there, you might not be finished with your Christmas gift list yet. To make your last-minute shopping a little easier, we’ve compiled a list of gift ideas for family caregivers.merry-christmas-1083982_1280

Homemade Meals

Who doesn’t appreciate a good home-cooked meal? Stock a family caregiver’s freezer with a few easy to reheat casseroles or prepared gallon-size bags of pre-chopped and seasoned food items that can be dumped into a slow cooker for a day.

Coupon Book

Remember those coupon books your kids used to make you, or you used to make for your parents? Make a homemade coupon book for a family caregiver and fill it with coupons for babysitting hours, housecleaning, grocery shopping, and other household chores. This is a gift that will keep on giving throughout the year.

Spa Gift Card

Treat the family caregiver in your life to a little bit of pampering. Give him/her a relaxing experience with a massage or manicure/pedicure. Don’t forget to make sure you help him/her find someone to cover their caregiving duties for a couple hours during their appointment.

A Gift of Time

Give the gift of your time. A family caregiver could always use a little more time in his/her day. Offer to take over caregiving for an afternoon, or to complete an afternoon of chores and errands.

Memory Keepsake

Design a sweet memory keepsake for a family caregiver. Make a homemade ornament, frame a treasured photo, or turn family recipes into a family cookbook.

Remember, the best part of the holidays is spending time with family and friends.
