Free Workshop for Tucson Family Caregivers

| By Jodi Horton

Olivia Joyce webThe average family caregiver provides somewhere around 24 hours of caregiving assistance a week. These are individuals who are providing care to aging, chronically ill, or disabled family members. This is a role that is usually unfamiliar, and many individuals have very little experience in caregiving.

If you are a family caregiver in Tucson, join us for a three-part workshop series designed to help family caregivers develop basic caregiving skills. Our presenter, Marianne Schloss, is a nurse, chaplain, and education coordinator with more than 35 years of experience. During each two-hour workshop, she will provide knowledge, techniques, and tools to build the family caregiver’s skill set. The workshop dates are September 26, October 17, and November 21. Each workshop will be from 10 a.m. – noon and take place at Dove of Peace Lutheran Church, 665 W. Roller Coaster Road. Register for the workshop by calling 520.544.9890.
