Mind-Body Skills Group for Grieving Adults is an an 8-week group to learn tools for self-care, optimal health, healing and transformation. Tuesdays, January 7, 2020 – February 25, 2020, 3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
A loved one dies. We grieve. Grief is the normal and natural response to a loss. And death, loss and grief are stressful. The emotional roller coaster marathon of grieving is very often physically and emotionally exhausting. We are heartsick and heartbroken. Research has found that although grief is a natural process, the prolonged emotional response to the death of a loved one can leave us prone to infection and disease. Grieving can take an immense toll on the human body.
This 8-week session group will offer participants a safe place to explore a variety of different methods to nourish and replenish their depleted reserves and help them to deal with life changes, stress, illness and grief. Self-care, self-awareness and health promotion are at the core of a Mind-Body Skills Group.
These powerful and effective combinations of research-based mind-body techniques include:Breathing exercises, Meditation, Movement, Guided Imagery, Autogenic Training, Biofeedback and more. No prior experience, skill or talent is needed. The sessions focus on experiential practice and self-reflection. The group dynamic allows participants, when they are ready, to share their thoughts, feelings and emotions in a safe, nurturing environment.
